The main areas of focus and improvement are the the seat pad, bib strap construction, new fabrics and waistband construction. Castelli's Forza fabric on the inner legs with 30% Lycra content offer the perfect fit and level of compression on the legs. Doppio V construction in the front of the shorts increase the support and comfort across the legs and waist. The Giro Air mesh-like leg gripper elastic gives better grip that is distributed over a larger area for more comfort

This year's straps have come on leaps and bounds. The Carré engineered lie-flat bib strap construction gives the straps the minimal coverage with the maximum comfort.

Castelli's Progetto X2 Air seat improve airflow and give the rider the highest degree of comfort. This new design uses ventilating perforations allowing air and moisture to flow directly to the surface of the material and quickly evaporate. The pad itself is constructed in three layers each offering a specific design purpose to create one of the most sought after seat pads on the market.

The three layers are: a skin care layer with bacteriostatic material and a four-way stretch to adapt to the shape of the riders body and saddle. A seamless integrated technology cushioning layer with multi-density foam and infinitely variable thickness to position the pad where rider's require it most. Finally, viscous comfort inserts for added pressure-ease for the highly-sensitive ischial and perineum areas.
