Santini Tour de Suisse Cross Jersey
Since it was first staged in 1933, the Tour de Suisse has been the setting for innumerable stories.
Passion, hope, disappointment, pride, humiliation and joy have all played a part in the dramas and tales of heroism written on its route.
The race is strategically placed in the first half of June and is generally considered by cyclists to be a great prelude to the Tour de France and other events in the heart of the season.
The 2018 edition, with 9 days of race, will see the winners wearing the prestigious jerseys made by Santini: the yellow jersey for the leader in the general classification, the black jersey for the leader in the points classification, the azure jersey for the best climber.
The Tour de Swiss fashion line comprises of 2 jerseys, the fi rst of which, is fi rmly based on the most iconic symbol of the famous alpine state, it’s fl ag. The design is clean and bold, playing with shades of red to create a screened effect from which the cross emerges. The design of the jersey would take cues from the
deeply influential Swiss Style or International Style of graphic design that was championed by Swiss designers like Armin Hofmann and Max Bill. The Santini + Helvetia graphic on the right sleeve is a reference to the persona of Helvetia, the national female personifi cation of Switzerland, and also the basis of the name Helvetica, the seminal Swiss designed typeface.
